I came across an explosive quote from former Eagles assistant and current Ravens head coach John Harbaugh. Asked why the Eagles have had so much success from 1999-2008 and the Cowboys haven't won a playoff game during that period, Harbaugh had this to say: "Why is that? Because what Andy Reid and his program stand for is the opposite of what the Cowboys stand for. The Cowboys are a star system. It's all about building around individuals first and collecting talent, collecting great players. Andy has always been about building a team. And over the long haul, it's a team sport, and one of the greatest examples of that is what's happened with the Eagles and the Cowboys over the last 10 years. The Cowboys stand for everything that's wrong with the NFL." Source: ESPN.com
as i agree partly with what he says i think there afr more teams in worse shape than the cowboys..........further more andys system has worked to certain point bc in the last ten years what has it got the eagles same as the cowboys no SB Ring
holy crap. harbaugh said that? um, he may face a fine for that. i don't think nfl coaches are allowed to say things like that about other teams, whether they're true or not. It would be like Eric Mangini saying the Lions failures are all Ford's fault and that he is what's wrong with them. Whether it's true or not, you can't say crap like that.
Nothing he says there is untrue and more importantly there are no personal attacks or names dropped - Coach Harbaugh went up like 3 notches of coolness in my book when I read that.
The problem with the NFL is that it has become a look at me sport. Other sports give players a chance to show themselves off. In basketball after a dunk they can pose for the media, baseball they have the chance to stand there and watch the HR. Football they have helmets on and it is just not the same. So the fastest way for a player to make a name for themselves is by getting in front of a camera and trash talk someone. I guess it works for coaches too. Harbaugh can kiss my ass, he needs to shut up and think about the Bengals and the Steelers.
I was not trying to leave out the Browns I just went with the Steelers because they have won the division and the Bengals because they play each other this week.
Calm Down Manster, the quote was lifted from a book about the great victories of the Eagles one of which was a game Harbs units played a large role - he wasn't talking to the press he was talking to an author about the Eagles & NFC East... he just happened to use that platform to totally pwn the Cowboys underachieving ways :icon_cheesygrin:
Glad to see that he learned something during his time with the Eagles... he's now number one on my list to replace Andy when he finally has the MI we all know is coming.
