Mike Florio of ProFootballTalk.com is reporting that John Gruden is likely to leave the broadcasting booth of Monday Night Football and get back into the coaching fraternity next year. Florio does indicate that there is no specific evidence that Gruden will return to sidelines in 2010 but says the feeling amongst NFL insiders is that Gruden will be coaching next year. With the number of teams struggling this year there should be plenty of opportunities for Gruden to coach in 2010. Source: ProFootballTalk
for those who live in k.c. and are familiar with soren petro, he was carrying on and on today on his show today about how much he loves gruden as an analyst ................ wtf? usually petro's pretty dead on but i was laughing my butt off at his gruden love ..................
Yeah, I'm a fan of Petro's too. I didn't here anything from him today though. I gotta be honest, I don't mind Gruden too much in the booth. He's not the best but I'm not put off by him. He's much better than the other recent MNF experiments (Kornheiser, Miller).
you should have heard it. even for people that don't 'mind' Gruden much were probably put off by the man crush Petro apparently has for Gruden. He kept going on and on about how he's the best football analyst in the game and what a great coach he is and how he will be able to write his own ticket wherever he wants to go .............. um, no, Gruden is not Cowher ............ I wonder if he was confusing Gruden and Cowher. It was a little weird but made me laugh. :icon_cheesygrin:
When they did the ATL/NO game and in garbage time near the end Gruden started gushing about how the women and children of New Orleans didn't have shelter, water or food after Katrina and how crime was rampant but he knew that those thirsty people starving in the rain knew that they knew they had the New Orleans Saints - that tore it for me, guy shouldn't talk on TV.
Yeah, I was thinking that's not much to have if you are drowning in flood waters or dying in that stadium :icon_confused:
