The Packers have fired a part time member of the stadium’s maintenance staff for apparently saying something he shouldn’t have to Mike McCarthy before the team’s game with Minnesota on Nov. 1., but the coach won’t say what was said and has denied that he had anything to do with Mike Wood being terminated. Wood, 53, had been working for the Packers for 22 years, claims all he said was, “Hey coach, let's get the boys ready to kick some butt this weekend.†When Wood arrived at the stadium prior to the game on Sunday, he was escorted away and was told he was done working for the team. “I was hoping you guys weren't going to go this far with this,’’ McCarthy said in his press conference. “I'm going to be honest with you, I don't really know the man. He made a comment to me, I made a comment to him, it's not the worst thing that's been said, but I would not say it to a fellow employee. So that's as far as I want to go with it.†Source: NationalFootballPost
Wow, 22 years as an employee, and let go for something he said to the coach? That's pretty thin skin. Even if the guy criticized him, it's not like he hasn't earned it. What a douche-bag.
and take TT with you **********Automerged Doublepost********** if you start to fire your staff for nothing, it's a sure sign you feel the heat, isn't it TT? McCarthy?
Freedom of speech is gone from todays society. What a disgrace to our forefathers/the constitution.:icon_frown:
