What kills me is his lack of work ethic. He may have a lot of drops, but he also has some REALLY bad misses. Most of which are inexcusable.
Haha bollocks, he was a slob at LSU when they were tearing up the SEC. I feel bad that I said he was similar to Byron Leftwich when entering the draft, because I'd consider that insulting Byron now.
I watch some of that game and there a faults the hands of Russell and his receivers. Heyward-Bey killed them with the drops on the deep throws and the INT of his hands. And the bomb to Louis Murphy getting called back also killed that drive for the Raiders.
I think that coming out of the draft the dude had the tools to get crap done but as soon as Oakland drafted him he was hecked - had he gone to a good team that would nurture his skill set I think he could've been a good player but sadly he's in Oakland.
im glad someone puts in input after watching atleast some of the game i hate all the crap that people say by just reading headlines and statlines. **********Automerged Doublepost********** tough talk bya fan of a 1-8 team you have your own problems oh thats right no one cares about the rams.
There's 3 stages to this: We think we can win with JaMarcus Russell. Let's start JaMarcus and see where he gets us, if we get in trouble we bring in Gradkowski. We give up on the Russell experiment and start Gradkowski. The Raiders are very close to Stage Three...lol...Jeff Garcia's sounding good right now...lol... Doesn't really help Russell's cause that the receiver's aren't playing at an NFL level...however, Russell's had plenty of chances to grow and hasn't taken advantage...just doesn't seem like he has the intangibles it takes to be an NFL starter.
id go with frye for the rest of the season IMO. let jamarcus sit back and watch a pro do it and hes the closest we have to a pro according to cable.
