Not that they needed it in a game with first place at stake, but Broncos coach Josh McDaniels may have provided extra motivation to the Chargers on Sunday. San Diego played alleged McDaniels remarked "We own you" to them prior to Denver's 32-3 loss on Sunday. Chargers LB Shaun Phillips told the San Diego Union-Tribune that he was not surprised that McDaniels ignited the controversy as the teams were on the field warming up: "He's a little cocky (expletive). It's all good, all fun and games. We didn't look too much into it. As a coach, I hope he has that mind-set. But to say he owns us? I mean, you beat us one time. What has he really done in this league? He had a team 6-0 and now he's looking up at us from second place." McDaniels, 33, told the Union-Tribune that the Chargers "talked to me first." Added the coach to the paper, "I'm not making a story about this. If I did, I'd be able to tell you some things that aren't for papers." Source: USA Today
Can somebody please shut McDaniels up? Incase he hasn't noticed, his team has lost 4 in a row since starting out 6-0 and have fallen out of first place in the AFC West to the Chargers, big suprise. A re-run of last season, just a month earlier.
Hopefully he'll hear that loud whistling noise and stop talking so much smack to figure out what it is. The rest of us know it's the sound of the Broncos falling in in the standings at terminal velocity.
This kind of reminds me of Mangina, everyone was calling him a genius during his first season, now look at him. McDaniels is arrogant as hell and thinks he's hoodie Jr. Not only does he act like a fan on the sidelines (fist pump) he coached like one as well.
:icon_cheesygrin: That's the problem with trash talking, it can come back to bite you in the butt. Josh has a lot to learn, but I think he'll get it done in Denver. I'd be surprised if he doesn't end up as the long time coach for the Broncos.
