Florida Gov. Charlie Crist thinks Tim Tebow could be the answer to the Jacksonville Jaguars' attendance problems. Crist said Monday that he's talked with the Jaguars ownership about taking the celebrated Florida quarterback in the NFL draft next April as a means to sell more season tickets and keep the team from moving out of Jacksonville. About 17,000 fans chose not to renew their season tickets this year, many citing the economic climate, about 30,000 seats were empty Sunday for Jacksonville's 23-18 victory over Houston.

That is just what we need Government control sports teams. Next thing you know will Obama will impose a five yard "penalty" tax on all plays greater than 20 yards. "This is just a new way we are going to fund the stimulus package"

Crist is a criminal and a scumbag that doesn't care two craps about anyone but his own political gain. He is a tool and an idiot and should be removed from office and forced to spend time as a seniorita for a mexican tramp house. Anyway drafting Tebow for his name is a mistake.

Dude I don't have the time/energy to rant about everything I don't like about Crist. If I were to start I would have to move my posts to FC/Crossfire because it would be off topic.
Anyway we all saw how "great" of a passer Tebow is in the SECCG, so if the /jags want to draft him more power to em.

It won't. Again. Jacksonville's problem is lack of funds by its citizens, not lack of interest.

Tebow will put this team even further behind.

    Garrard > Tebow.

No one is going to spend money they dont have to watch a QB stand on the sidelines

This isnt hoops where Allen Iverson will cause a huge spike in attendence. Lowering ticket price's + Winnibng football will help alliviate the attendence issue a bit

  13. Its a real shame that Jacksonville is a 7-5 playoff caliber team and is having serious attendance issues, not to mention all of their home games blacked out before the start of the season.

No knock against Tebow, he is a nice kid who is a tough and fierce competitor. But to me, hes seems kinda like the John Cena of College Football, who is shoved down your throat to the point that you could care less how much of a nice guy he is or how much of a competitor he is because he always seems to be in your face, unless of course your a UF fan. I remember not to long ago that Tebow, on a teleprompter, was giving a message for the troops and thanking them for what their doing for our country and was booed when his face appeared on screen, even by some of the troops if I recall.

Tebow is from Jacksonville and he may become an attraction similar to Michael Vick during his days with the Falcons, but drafting a player solely to help sell tickets would be a huge mistake. And unless Jacksonville drafts him as a Tight End, which I believe is where he ultimately belongs in the NFL, Jacksonville will be facing the same attendance dilemma again in the next few years and the talk of them moving to Los Angeles will resurface. Dennis Miller excuse me, Charlie Crist should just stick to politics.

Can you imagine if he gets on the field as QB in the NFL...

I would pay to see that.

Drafting Tebow isn't going to prevent the Jags. from moving out of Jacksonville "Its the economy" .... alot of people dont have the money to buy those season tickets right now, its more importnat to feed there families then go to a football game, espicially when you can watch it on t.v..
When the economy gets better ticket sales will improve not only for the Jags but for all the teams.

So for Florida Gov. Charlie Crist to think that Tim Tebow could be the answer to the Jacksonville Jaguars' attendance problems. He's wrong and you dont have to be a Rocket Scientist to kow that we are going through the biggest recession in America right now. The Jags dont need Tebow they have other issues at other positions.

um, why is everyone blaming the 'economy' for the jags attendance problems? they've had attendance problems for a LONG time. a few years ago, when the economy was GOOD, they were the only team struggling to sell out their stadium. They started tarping portions of their stadium to make the stadium smaller several years ago. there have been discussions about jacksonville moving to another city for a long time.
