Is Brandon Marshall down to his final three regular-season games with the Broncos? To retain Marshall, the Broncos may have to start with Larry Fitzgerald's deal -- and tack on a couple of years of inflation. The Broncos could pre-empt such bargaining leverage by opening talks on a long-term contract with Marshall. But the receiver has his doubts. Source: NFL Fanhouse
larry fitzgerald's deal? what? let's get one thing clear. marshall may be just as worthy as Fitz on the field but Marshall is one bad move away from costing a team a lot of money if they've given him a crapload of money in a huge guaranteed contract. You can give Fitz 10's of millions of dollars and feel confident that he is still going to work his butt off and stay clean off of the field. Doing the same with Marshall is inheriting a helluva lot more risk. Marshall should NOT be paid more than Fitz.
Step 1 - Franchise tag. Step 2 - See what happens with the CBA. This part cracks me up: To retain Marshall, the Broncos may have to start with Larry Fitzgerald's deal Ummmm, START with a Fitz deal? This crazy butt would be lucky to sniff close to what Fitz's contract is.
