Holiday motorists in Arlington Heights are getting a look at a new billboard that doesn't exactly urge goodwill to all men -- or at least not to the men running the Bears. The billboard, which went up Wednesday on Hintz Road just west of Schoenbeck Road, urges Bears ownership to fire coach Lovie Smith, general manager Jerry Angelo and the rest of the management team. The sign, which was paid for by a group called Bears Fans United, urges the McCaskey family to fire all of them after the season.

Lovie is the least of the problem. They need a better OC, DC, but those guys can only do so much with what Angelo keeps bringing in, he is the biggest problems for the bears.

My biggest problem with Lovie is him not admitting that the cover 2 DOES NOT WORK for this team. We need a DC that has the freedom to run is own sceme and not what Lovie wants.

Remember that billboard put up by the family of a girl that got murdered at the swimming pool?

That was what caught the killer.

True BUT if it were up to me, that message would be up there as long as possible.

While I do admit that they might have to go ahead and get rid of Lovie, I personally think that certain group of fans that behind that whole billboard effort are pretty clueless, to put it nicely. I just think it's awaste of time & money, considering that the McCaskey's are not paying any little bit of attention to it. The bottom line is that the Bears are a business, just like any other team, and they are gonna run the way they see fit. If they do fire Lovie, it won't have anything to do with the billboard people. :icon_rolleyes:

What makes it worse with them is that they tried to associate themselves with a local Chicago-based charity and didn't even bother to get their permission. That charity didn't want to have anything to do with their crusade and basically told them to get charity's name of BFU (Bear Fans United) website or else. I just think that the money going towards this whole mission can better spent elsewhere, especially in these hard times, IMO.
