The flexible scheduling slot for the Sunday night game in Week 17 has been filled. The NFL announced Sunday the game between the Cincinnati Bengals and New York Jets has been moved from a 1 p.m. ET kickoff to 8:30 p.m. ET and will be aired nationally on NBC’s Sunday Night Football. The game will mark the Bengals’ second regular-season appearance on Sunday Night Football since the series moved to NBC in 2006.

thanks roy. still can't find an online source.

I agree. Eagles-Cowboys would have been much better. If Patriots beat Texans Bengals will have nothing to play for. I guess the league figures they'll get all the fans of bubble teams such as Pittsburgh or Denver or Baltimore or Houston watching this game and routing against NY.

probably had something to do with it, but i think that is was more that if the jets lose, one team (steelers, broncos, texans, ravens, dolphins, jaguars) will be in, and all those fans will watch.

    Cletusaurus YES! YES! YES!

Fox probably protected it so that they could still have a marquee matchup.
