Former Patriot and current ESPN analyst Tedy Bruschi had some strong words for the Colts, who chose to rest starters in the second half of last week’s game instead of going for a perfect season. “When you compare the ‘09 Colts to the ’07 Patriots,†Bruschi said, “I am going to say something that a lot of people are thinking but aren’t saying: At least the ’07 Patriots had the guts to go for it. That’s what they did, that’s what the Indianapolis Colts didn’t do, and that’s their problem.†Source: National Football Post
Calm down there Bruschi, everyone is calling out the Colts and no one is afraid...don't you have some ESPN analyzing to do?
"If you turn on history, history will turn on you" That quote cannot be anymore true than with the Colts. The one season they needed to win in December, they also won in February. How many times have the Colts won the Superbowl whilst resting in December?
And they finished 18-1. So that 16-0 regular season isn't any better than going 10-6 if that 10-6 team wins the bowl.
the fact that the colts didn't go for it proves the undefeated record and the 72 dolphins are both irrelevant.
Whatever Ted. If you cocky donks didn't climax at 16 thus blowing your load in the regular season you would have still had a little mojo came Feb. and probably would have won the SB in '07.
the '07 Pats had the 'guts' to go for it but the Colts didn't? huh? the pats obviously set 16-0 as a team goal and the colts didn't. this has nothing to do with 'guts', it has to do with a team doing what they feel is in their best interest to reach their goal ...................
