1/3 - Eagles Vs. Cowboys well this is it folks, this game is for the nfce crown and playoff seeding. now we have our smack forum thread on this but i thought posting one here to actually discuss the game without the trash talking would be good. honestly, i think this is going to be a tough game no matter who wins. i do feel the eagles will find a way to win it but it's not going to be anything like last year. the big difference to me is the defenses. while dallas' defense is playing really well down the stretch the eagles' squad isn't doing as well. we are giving up entirely too many points. now injuries are part of that but they are part of the game. if we don't get enough pressure on romo it may cost us the game. offensively both teams are playing well, the issues i see for us is the loss of jackson at center and peters. we are going to have to give peters help or it could be a long day for mcnabb. if mcnabb gets time and the receivers can get seperation it could end up being a shootout because unlike new orleans the eagles are clicking on all cylinders on offense right now. i know the eagles and cowboys have bigger rivalries in the giants and redskins respectively but one has to admit this one is a close second and has actually had really meaningful games lately. get ready people because this is going to be a classic.
yep, i think everyone will be watching. the playoff seed isn't as important to the team as the division crown. the nfc east has a proud history and anytime a team can put a division championship banner up is a proud moment.
Screw you guys... I'm not watching... I hate this crap! Who the heck do i root for?! :icon_confused: ...naw, I'm playing, I look forward to it, should be a good game. With the Giants eliminated I can finally sit back and watch and enjoy football without my strategically biased homerism getting in the way. ...except I'll be rooting against both of you guys the whole way! :icon_thumright:
I will be rooting for your G-MEN to knock off the Vikings. this game will be awesome 13 pro bowlers on the fieldthe stadium noise will be unberable for the Eagals.
I don't really think either fanbase is capable fo discussing without trash talking and I KNOW I'm not. The hatred is just too strong with this one. So I will just say FREAK THE COWBOYS! Enjoy your thread! I'm going back to the smack talk thread
I'm so excited for this game. Remember when the schedule came out and so many of us talked about how this game could be for the division? Lo and behold, it is. Both teams coming in playing with swagger. Couldn't ask for a better way to finish off the regular season. It should be a war.
I think this game is gonna be brutal. The Eagles always bring it in December, and Dallas seems hell bent on getting that December monkey off there back Ratliff is THE guy to watch with is game for Dallas. He had a very good game against Jackson the last time, and with could be a bigger factor with Jackson out. On the opposite side. I can see the Eagles give us some serious trouble on the Edge. Cole has had some success VS Adams, and Ive been underwhelmed by Adams of late, and Free inexperience could come into play in such a big game These games seem to be decided threw the air, for better or worse. These two teams dont seem to have much success running on each other. Funny thing is I think the CB's own the matchup with the WR's all around, so I think the offense's are either gonna struggle or have to get creative
The Dallas Cowboys host the Philadelphia Eagles @ Cowboys Stadium on Sunday 1/03/2010. Kick off is 4:15pm EST on FOX. Discuss...
Eagles.... more (most likely) to play for and a better track record in January. Oh yeah and of course a better team in every way.
What happens when the eagles are motivated to win a game that means alot to them? last year you were in our way of the playoffs this year your in the way of the 2 seed wrong place at the wrong time
After reading so many previews, watching the previous Cowboys-Eagles game, and giving hours upon hours of thought....here are my keys to the game: Line play and turnovers. I'm a genius. NFL Expert if you will.
Somebody should be paying you for this kind of analysis. I'ma call ESPN for you right now. They'd take you. **********Automerged Doublepost********** Every once in awhile you have an excellent post. This is one of those times.
I was going to go a little more in depth and discuss how penalties may play a factor as well, but I dumbed it down for you kids.
We may have a slight edge in Line play this time around with Jackson out and Ratliff posing a potentially huge matchup nightmare. But on the other side Free has played decent, but has never played in a high stakes game like this, so I could see him very much being a weak link Both teams have done a good job protecting the ball. And I see both CB groups controlling the WR's in this game. I think this game is gonna come down to "who is gonna get that TD Miles Austin got last time around" I see alot of stalled drives and 3 and outs in this game. This game will be won or lost by 1 or 2 coverage snafu's like Brown biting on the double move **********Automerged Doublepost********** And as far as that goes I worry about the Newman/Jackson matchup I dont see Jackson having a big day VS Newman. Skill set wise Newman is matchup nightmare for Desean, but Newman has been susceptible to double moves this year. Jackson doesnt have the speed to consitantly beat Newman on a Go route, but Jackson is too fast for any CB to catch up with after biting. So I can see that one or two big play's coming from Jackson. Newman biting on a double and/or Samuel not being able to bring Austin down after the catch will be difference
