Brett Favre shouldn’t be playing for the Minnesota Vikings even though he has the team one win away from a Super Bowl berth, former Vikings quarterback Fran Tarkenton said. Tarkenton, a Hall of Fame member who led Minnesota to three Super Bowl spots, said he stood by statements he made before the National Football League season that it was wrong for Favre to sign with the Vikings after playing quarterback for 16 seasons with the division-rival Green Bay Packers. “I didn’t like it then — he’s a Green Bay Packer — and I don’t like it now,†Tarkenton said in an interview today at an Atlanta Press Club event. “I could never imagine me retiring from the Vikings and playing for the Packers. So, it didn’t sit well with me and it still doesn’t.†Source: Bloomberg
im a favre fan, and i hope the vikes win it all, but i absolutely see where tarkentons coming from...it would be like peyton manning going to tennessee
I'm not a Favre fan, but I agree with Tarkenton, too. Romo coming to the Eagles? :icon_evil: :icon_evil: :icon_evil:
the most ridiculous part of all of this is that Fran didn't want to play for the Vikings his entire career and demanded to be traded from them in the middle of his career only to return later on. yes, he's the poster boy for being loyal ........................ ................. as much as I respect what Fran did as a QB on the field, his off-the-field life since retiring has been somewhat questionable.
Don't worry Fran, it will be over by Sunday.... Not anymore and I'm all for banning him from the Packers HoF and hope he will be introduced to the HoF as a Falcon, Jet or Viking
I was oppose to him coming back but as he played this season ive gotton to like him. Im a big fan of his now. Hope he wins and goes to the superbowl.
