Jets RB Thomas Jones Unlikely To Return In 2010?

Discussion in 'New York Jets' started by BigBlueBruiser, Jan 23, 2010.

  1. Jets running back Thomas Jones didn't address the media this week which had a few regular beat writers questioning his future. It's no secret Jets rookie running back Shonn Greene has been far more productive in two playoff games and Jones has a $3 million roster bonus due on March 1. A couple Jets scribes said they will be surprised if the team pays up, which means Jones, despite a career-high 1,402 yards, could be on the move in the offseason.

Why get rid of him, Shonne Greene runs like a tank, he's gonna get tired, any word on whether Leon is gonna be back to full strength next year. Keep Jones, he's such an underrated back IMO. Always gets replaced by the next big thing.(Chicago)

No respect and underrated...so true. Trains like a beast, too!

However...he is on the bad side of 30 and is probably going to want more money. He wants to be the starter, too.

    Good luck Jones!

That will be one hell of a three headed monster if they keep it intact in 2010.

Funny thing is Cedric Benson only lasted one more year in Chicago when Jones was traded. If the Jets cut ties with him, i'd gladly take him back in Chicago. (won't happen though)

It's a shame how underrated TJ is...he's one of my favorite players in the NFL (as well as one of my favorite UVA Cavaliers), I'm wishing him the best

    Maybe Seattle signs him.
