Despite so many players pulling out of the Pro Bowl this year, NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell likes having the league's annual all-star game prior to the Super Bowl. And Goodell outlined that stance to the Miami Herald heading into today's Pro Bowl game, indicating that the league may hold the Pro Bowl before the Super Bowl again next year. The NFL is moving the game back to Hawaii for 2011 and 2012. "We have the option when we go back to Hawaii, we can do it before or after [the Super Bowl],' Goodell said. "Here's where I like it: I think you should stop or end your season when you reach the pinnacle. The pinnacle is the Super Bowl. I think it's anticlimactic when you come back with the Pro Bowl the week after the Super Bowl." Source: National Football Post
I think its a great idea to have the pro bowl a week before the superbowl. it might get people ready for the superbowl
Glorified Lawyer Statement. It is a shame the commissioner is so far out of the loop. He just freaking does not get it. I have been to 3 Super Bowls. Wanted to go to a Pro Bowl. Will not go till it goes back to Hawaii. You can only want to go to Florida so many times.
What's so wrong with it being played during an otherwise dead week between the playoffs and the big game? I wasn't really impressed with the playing today, it was like they weren't even trying.
I don't give a fluck when they have the pro-bowl I don't watch it anymore. To me it's as meaningful as the Nobel Prize now. Years ago it was an honor to play in the pro-bowl now the players think it a nuisance and many opt out so screw it.
Yea players dont even try anymore so who cares you guys remember when sean taylor rocked a punter in the probowl lol good times
