The Baltimore Ravens, desperate for receivers for young star quarterback Joe Flacco, have signed free-agent wideout Donte' Stallworth, who sat out the 2009 season after being convicted of vehicular homicide in Miami. Stallworth has been working out intensively in Miami since the accident and his controversial 24-day jail sentence (he also reported made an out-of-court settlement exceeding $3 million with the family of the man who was killed in the accident). Recently, he said he ran three 40-yard dashes clocked in the 4.3-second range. Source: SportsIllustrated.com
He could always run...but for some reason he hasn't produced on the field. Even when he played for the Patriots he wasn't as explosive as I thought he would of been with Brady.
As stated before it is a low risk move which may pay dividends. Right player, right price. Hey Donte`, Willie Gault and Darrell Green just did the same thing at 48 and 50 years old. Good for you. And he has always been limited with the hamstring. Hopefully it got stretched out getting bent over nightly for a month. I wish him luck. Go Ravens!
"4.3 range?" lol... Donte really has average talent at best and it continues to show year after year. As MG says...it's a low-risk move. If they Ravens can get a guy to play opposite Stallworth, he may be somewhat productive...
totally disagree, he was semi-productive with New England, he played some part of their magical season.
He was an afterthought in New England and had one big game. Didnt come close to playing up to his contract and was so relevent that he was let go the next year.
He'll be the 3rd or 4th Wr at best. He's not very good but we know he can do one thing well, get deep....For the money we signed him its a no brainer, i fully expect Mason to be back and we will add 2 WR's thru the draft, Stallworth stretching the field as the 3rd or 4th will work out well for us
Ill be rooting for him to do well i liked him his season with the eagles even though he wasent super productive and injured. Only started 11 games with us and got 725 not bad.
