Just like every off-season the future of quarterback Donovan McNabb and the Eagles is up in the air. Quarterback Kevin Kolb was drafted to be the future of the Eagles, he is ready to be the starter, wants to be the starter and now the drama begins, again. Kevin Kolb joined Howard Eskin and Ike Reese on WIP in Philadelphia and talked about whether or not he has thought about playing for another team. "No, I never did. Because I feel like I fit in this system so well and not just the system but the coaching staff and the players and the personnel all the way around," Kolb said. You know even on the other side of the building with the business side and all of that. I just feel like our personalities really fit well together, we work hard together and I look forward to taking over this thing one day and working with those guys. I would never wish myself to be anywhere else." Source: Sports Radio Interviews
of course not, he's a competitor and he wants to prove himself and look at the talent he is going to have to work with.
You know they probably will somehow. Like FO not giving DJack a new deal after out performing his rookie contract and becoming the #1 guy
its only 2/18, they may still give djack a new deal. nothing will happen till a decision is made on the cap this year though which should be shortly.
Understandable but you have to agree that the Eagles are known to be a franchise that is cheap at times when it comes to contracts
i think that is a media hyped thought for the most part, they re-sign younger guys to good money but typically refuse to re-negociate early into the deal. now they do tend to low ball older players which in reality has served them well for the most part with a couple of exceptions. IE dawkins.
Why? Because they can't give everyone of their players who has a good season top dollar? Did you hear Runyan or Thomas snitch about their contracts? Taylor or Vincent? Dawkins when he was here? They don't see every player as worthy of a big contract even if they play well in the system. The Eagles success rate on extending contracts, doling out the bigger contracts for free agents, and keeping the right veterans happy with their contracts has been very good over the last decade. No, you can't make every single player happy. Ask any player and they deserve at least 40% more than they currently make. Some whiny snitches are just a little more outspoken about it. Back on topic, Kolb isn't going anywhere.
