this is who runs this team ed snider, edd stefanski & eddy jordan seriously, how can a team be run this poorly ? we bring in stefanski to clean up the mess left by billy king and he makes king look like red auerbach. he signs iguodala to an assinine contract that grossly overpays the guy when nobody else was going to offer him 1/2 of what we are paying him. brings in a dope of a coach who goes on & on about how his "princeton offense" is going to turn this ream around and take us to the big dance. guess what, the GM admitted yesterday they don't even run it anymore. great heckin move. the topper is not trading iguodala & dalenbert for expiring contracts so we can get out of this cap hell and put ourselves in position to make a run at what could be the best free agent pool ever in the nba. heck iggy, heck dalenbert, two disgustingly overpaid average at best (and that's strectching it dalenbert's case) players that are killing this team. great freaking job guys. you really have taken one of the sport's more storied franchises and ran it into the ground worse than harold katz could've ever done.
lucky you dawk. well actually i am not a fan of pro ball anymore but this is my city's team. how do you not trade those two ? what are you affraid of ? losing attendence ? they barely bring in 8k per game as it is. those out that say oh it would hurt the team if we lose iggy are clueless, the team BLOWS with him. we need to start over but no, we are stuck with this emabarrassment of a squad.
Its sad i really want the sixers to be good because im a fan of basketball but it doesnet look like its going to happen for a very long time. So we make one trade with 2 scrubs for 2 other scrubs lol big deal. I like iggy but your right his contract is to much and teams were willing to take on his contract. We probably should have traded with the suns for amare i think his contract is going up soon.
agreed basket - i dont really dislike iggy - he's a decent player and why would he not sign that deal. the issue is snider & stefanski who are worried about losing fans in the seats. do they even l;ook in the stands during games ? you get more fans at a girls middle school game.
Yea its really sad i miss the hot crowds at sixer games. Not even allen iverson can attract the crowds anymore and thats what hes best at. He was voted a starter averaging 14 points a game lol. I remember times where you would have faith the sixers would come back in a game and remember great comeback wins where i lose my voice now its like when there losing they go threw the motions. i miss things like this [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bhupAHqkf1Q]YouTube - allen iverson game winning buzzer beater in overtime[/ame] [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3KRJk6Y3fP0]YouTube - allen iverson game winner v.s. pacers[/ame]
this team needs a ton of help. hard to do though when you're in cap hell and knowing the cap goes down next year.
I watched the first half of the Sixers-Knicks game last week without the tv on mute. Not sure what I was thinking. I made the proper half-time adjustment though.
well i wanted to bring this thread back up becuase i have to give this team some major props for turning things around like they did and that goes to everyone from the front office, to the coaches - doug collins especially - and the players. i actually enjoyed watching basketball not just because they were winning more but because collins had them playing real ball. not that highlight film bullcrap that has taken over the nba that i hate. now - lets get rid of iggy and try to get a bigman if possible. can i get me some mike love ?
This new & improved Doug Collins was something to watch. Mellowed but still has the fire. Always liked him with the Bulls tho he was strung like a piano wire for the most part. Good to see some of the old guard hangin' tuff...
I mean you guys made the playoffs and had to play the number one seed Miami Heat. I still would be happy with there performance this year. I mean Miami is one of the best teams in the league IMO
yeah the sixers deserve praise for the improvement. just hope it keeps going in the right direction but i agree that doug collins is not the same guy that started out coaching and he is teaching these guys to play the game right. just get him some more talent. c'mon comcast, step the heck up and pay howard the world. get him here and this city has a great chance to have another parade.
