Steve Reed of the Gaston Gazette reports the Carolina Panthers have not made a long-term contract offer to restricted free agent quarterback Matt Moore. Moore replaced starter Jake Delhomme after Week 11 of the 2009 season and threw for eight touchdown passes with one interception during that span, while leading the Panthers to a 4-1 record. Moore's performance down the stretch leads to speculation that he will challenge Delhomme for the starting job in training camp. Source: TheRedzone.org
He will likely receive the first and third round tender, if there smart. Moore's play is a big reason why John Fox still has a job. He should show Moore some of the same loyalty he has displayed for Jake Delhomme during his entire career with the Panthers. Moore should be given a chance to show what he can bring for a full season.
Moore wasn't too shabby in the preseason when he signed as an undrafted free agent with the Cowboys a few years back. The Panthers should give him a chance.
I can't believe the Panthers spend all that money on Delhomme and could potentially let Matt Moore walk way! What are they thinking?! They should probably be sure to put the 1st Tender cause i can see other teams having some interest in him
