Arizona's eventful offseason will continue this week when the Cardinals release former first-round pick free safety Antrel Rolle, an NFL source said Sunday. Rolle will become the premier safety in this year's free-agent class, but it is still possible the safety will return to the Cardinals. With less than a week until the start of the March 5 free-agent signing period, Rolle wants to see what he's worth at a time when the Cardinals are reluctant to pay him more than the $12 million that would be owed to him this season. Source: ESPN
Rolle is either staying in Arizona or he is coming back to Florida, the somple reason is he wants his parents to see him play and all that travel isn't easy for his parents.:icon_cheesygrin:
This is interesting news specially since there are quite a few teams in need of a safety. Let the NL East bidding begin since the only team in no need of a safety there are the redskins
I wouldnt even say that, Rolle would be an upgrade from Horton/the other guy. Im not gonna say Landry because thats apple to oranges
NL?:icon_cheesygrin: Besides, you guys are not reading what I wrote. Rolle has said he wants to come back to Florida. **********Automerged Doublepost********** http://gridironfans.com/forums/late...ardinals-fs-antrel-rolle-would-love-play.html
Plus the bright lights of Manhattan. :icon_cool: That could also tempt Rolle away from playing close to home. We'll just have to see what transpires this Friday at 12:01 a.m. when Free Agency begins.
I agree with you! I think he would rather get paid the most to take good care of his family over just playing so his parents can see him.
Got to see him play all 18 games and he's versatile as hell. Is he a Reavis? Not even close. He's a real gamer with the only knock being is that sometimes he'll miss a tackle out of nowhere. But he's good to decapitate someone and really good at the pick 6. Is he worth $12MM? Dunno.
The Cards are damn confident that his market value is far less than the $12MM due him next season and that no-one will offer big money. Maybe a little over confident?
