    Decent time for ET. 4.53

Might run better on second run.

I saw Mays run and it really didn't look that fast....I mean it really didn't look that fast. Maybe because he's so big, but McCourtey looked much faster than him. I'd like them to do that overlay with those two.

  3. Malcolm Jenkins last year was touted as a possible top 10 pick before running his 40's in the high 4.5's then fell to #14 overall to New Orleans and is now slated to play free safety if infact they don't resign Darren Sharper.

Jenkins is a good player no doubt about that. You just don't take Corners with those kind of 40 times in the Top 10.

Could be, we've got a corner in Flowers that fell a ton based on his 40 time. I'm glad that he did because he's still a great corner they we were able to get in the 2nd round. I just think it's crazy to grade people down because of that, especially when they clearly have poor technique starting/running a sprint. When the game tape says they can play, they can play.

cmon did anyone actually expect myron rolle to run better than 4.6?

  6. It can be an overrated process at times.

But when it comes to taking DB's in the Top 10, teams want someone that not only has good ball skills, coverage skills and instincts, they want DB's that can run in the 4.3's or 4.4s that can match up and run stride for stride against the elite #1 receivers in the league.

But not every good corner in the league has impressive speed however. Flowers plays with toughness despite being 5-9 and under 200 pounds and would've been a first round lock back in 2008 if he ran a slightly better 40.

  7. Bruce Campbell now has competition in Taylor Mays to be selected #8 overall to the Oakland Raiders.

4.24!? I knew Mays would be a 4.3 guy but jesus. Somebody call Chris Johnson's mama!

There we go 4.44 from Earl Thomas for his second run...

Lol the safeties are faster than the Cornerbacks...

    S
    Major Wright 4.49
    Taylor Mays 4.24 & 4.34
    Berry 4.4
    Earl Thomas 4.44

If I was drafting in the 14-20 range and all the Cornerbacks were still on the board I think I'd go with Kyle Wilson over Haden to be honest, regardless of how well Wilson times at his pro day.

  9. Chris Johnson's twitter feed regarding Mays' 4.24 40 Time:

"if he tie my forty or beat it ill pay for his plane ticket home but I'm telling u it aint gon happen"

"u always go missing when u find out the real time talor mays offical time is a 4.34 but gd time 4 his size"

"now do yall really believe the talor mays 4.24 then run 4.34 it aint adding up lol"

"did yall just c dat 40 dey just showed"

    Chris Johnson28: Twitter.com

  10. Mays' official time is 4.43, which is still tops among the safeties.

But that 4.24 40 must have been an electrical error. How do you go running a 4.24, 4.34 than your official time is in the 4.4's? Still, 4.43 is very impressive for a safety, especially for Mays' size.

I'm guessing Thomas' run was officially like 4.54 a tenth slower. But I haven't seen anything.

It doesn't surprise me at all with the time for Mays....I watched it and it really didn't look that fast at all. If the NFLN had any brains all they'd have to do is run tape against a known time to see if it's legit.

This could be great for us if teams orgasm over May's 40 time.

he may not drop to 27, but he could drop within range ala Mike Jenkins

    (Keyboard is goobered)
Taylor Mays Official time was (4.43)... This is what I don't get.

Jacoby Ford ran a (4.28) & Trindon Holiday ran a (4.34) right? I that's the case then Taylor Mays Official 40 time should be (4.30) because he clocked before Holiday and Jacoby Ford BARELY beat Mays.
NFL Network combined the top performers in the 40 Yard Dash.. YOUTUBE IT!

Taylor Mays must like the Raiders because he sure ran like it! haha

I'm calling Taylor Mays at 4.31, thats halfway between Holliday and Ford.

It's an amazing time for a 230lb guy anyway.

Shame he has zero instincts, no ball skills, and can't cover anything.

  20. K Train

    K Train Do You Honeycutt?

hes a rare player in that whoever gets him in the first is a freaking idiot but whoever drafts him in the second if he falls is getting a steal
