Michael Lombardi of The National Football Post says that he's been writing and saying all offseason that the Eagles will not trade quarterback Michael Vick unless they get a solid pick in return. And unless they get a second round pick, they won't move him. Compensatory picks are awarded to teams that have lost more qualifying free agents than they gained the previous year in free agency. The placement of the picks is determined by a proprietary formula based on the player's salary, playing time, and postseason honors with his new team, with salary being the primary factor. Vick is set to make $5 Million in 2010 if infact the Eagles decide to retain him for one more season. Based on that and his playing time, the Eagles could snag a nice comp pick in return. That could be a factor as to why the Eagles aren't go giddy in parting with him as some have speculated.
so things would depend on what the eagles do this season as far as free agency just as much as how much playing time he'd get. well, not sure the eagles will stand pat on free agents this year and i certainly do not see vick getting much playing time if he's here next season. plus he's already out yapping about wanting to leave because "he" knows he has next zero chance at being a starter here.
