Panthers Confirm QB Matt Moore Is The Starter

The Panthers have officially parted ways with veteran Jake Delhomme on Thursday and declared that Matt Moore will be the starting quarterback going into training camp. At an emotional news conference Friday morning where both Hurney and Fox choked up, the Panthers announced that Delhomme was one of five veterans released. The move comes after Delhomme threw a career-high 18 interceptions last season and the Panthers still owe him more than $12.5 million in guaranteed money.

DU'H! its not like they have anyone else cause A.J Feeley is a free agent and they cut Delholme so there is really no other QB.

Unless they want Vick!...... Dun dun dun!

 

Eagles should give them Vick, because if he wants out and to be a starter we don't need any of his drama in the clubhouse.

 

Matt Moore has the potential to be a much better Quarterback than Vick is or ever will be.

Problem was they had too much invested in Delhomme, so they had to try to make it work.

 

I was just watching on NFLN and their panel was saying how this move makes no sense and its clearly cap related - stupidest crap I've heard today. Delhomme is cooked, has been since his Tommy john surgery, '08 was the last hurrah.

 

right but 12.5 for delhomme and the tender on moore = about 15+ million which is the going rate for a true #1 QB - makes total sense

 

What a bunch of idiots! Of course its a smart move and its even better that they did it once Free agency began to have it not affect their cap similar situation as Joey Porter and the Dolphins
