Titans QB Vince Young Says He's Gotta Go Out There And Be "Vince"

Discussion in 'Tennessee Titans' started by BigBlueBruiser, Mar 23, 2010.

  1. Titans coach Jeff Fisher has a very simple message for his young QB, Vince Young: Keep winning. Young started the 2009 season on the bench as the Titans started 0-6, but then he led the team to eight wins in the final 10 games as it flirted with playoff contention. Young told KGOW in Houston (via Sports Radio Interviews) that he stopped focusing on the media criticism and the fans' booing, and went back to what made him so successful in the past. "Got to go out there and be Vince," Young said Tuesday. "Don't worry about everybody else. You are not going to be able to make everybody happy, and when I seen that and got the chance to mature and get more ordinary and understand the business and understand the game and understand that everybody is not going to like you. When I took that upon myself, I kind of got back into who I saw and the guy that got me here, the things that I was doing to get myself here and start focusing more on that and stop focusing on the media. Stop focusing on the fans and how they felt about me. That was my least worries."

The Vince with the pathetic arm or the Vince that tries to kill himself when he's loses the starter job?

    Crowned Doesn't give a shit.

Probably the Vince that ended took over and led the team to an 8-2 record. (Yes I'm aware Chris Johnson is a beast).

I think Vince needs one more receiver. However, they do have a quite the player in Jared Cook just a matter of when he starts contributing not if he starts contributing.

    One more aside from Britt?

I think Britt and Washington could be solid starting group if Britt takes a big step this year. Washington may be a better #3 than a #2, but he can be a dangerous #2 if Britt play's to alevel where teams have to focus on him. It is a lot to ask of him right now tho

Britt, Washington, and Gage are a nice combo of receivers but Washington is a little bit inconsistant to be a go-to-guy. Britt is a keeper but Gage and Washington have probably hit their ceilings so to speak. I think they should draft a receiver who can grow into a #2 or Slot receiver. Also worthy of noting is they still have expectations for Lavelle Hawkins out of cal who will be entering his 3rd season. So yeah they may not even think about drafting a Receiver till the later rounds.

I think once Britt matures to the point he is a legit #1, alot of stuff will fall into place. Having that guy that defense's have to focus on makes a huge difference for all the other WR's

I think his WRs development needs his leadership to grow. VY needs to tkae over and prove to this offense that he is the guy in charge of the huddle. Rooting for him, too talented to fall the way of a Russell or Akili Smith
