Raiders Willing To Trade Nnamdi Asomugha For Donovan McNabb?

Discussion in 'Oakland Raiders' started by BigBlueBruiser, Mar 26, 2010.

  1. Adam Schefter of ESPN reports via twitter that colleague Len Pasquarelli reports that the Oakland Raiders is willing to part with cornerback Nnamdi Asomugha in exchange for Eagles quarterback Donovan McNabb, but the Eagles are reluctant. Schefter writes that Asomugha's contract has one year, $16 Million left and strong provisions preventing him from being franchised.

no way i see the eagles taking on NA's contract.

"Aso" is due $16 million in 2010 with an option year in 2011 available for either $16.9 million or the franchise tag number for quarterbacks, whichever amount is greater. If the '11 option is not exercised, the deal prohibits Asomugha's team from franchise tagging him.

Why doesn't Uncle Al just shut down operations, enter an senior assisted living facility and call it a life.

Dumbest move you could make. We know how good McNabb is, but he's 33, and to trade that for your BEST defensive player

if the eagles could find a way to redo it i am all for it but that may not be easy.

If I may - The reason why the (Eagles) aren't willing to accept this trade is because the (Raiders) want Donovan and a 1st Round pick for Asomugha. Alot of reports out there are (Blown smoke) Al Davis wants nothing less than value (and oR) a 1st Rounder for Nnamdi.

I highly doubt that Aso's contract is the problem here - (Jus' saying)

that contract IS an issue. a BIG issue. i know my team and there's no way in hell the eagles would pay that kind of coin for a cb. only a stupid crap like davis would.

add to that the fact that samuel is due $9.5mil in 2010 and there's little to no chance the birds would take on that contract.

    **********Automerged Doublepost**********

and then of course there's this issue as reported by schefter -

well, nobody can call dmac stupid now can they ? :icon_cheesygrin:

That's why I think the Niners would be the best "home" for Donovan and they have draft picks to work with. Close to Arizona too...

    Haha
Look - Al Davis just wants McNabb, this traded should've been completed Yesterday! The Raiders offered the Eagles some picks & a player of (Phillies) choice but the Eagles got greedy and wants Nnamdi Asomugha instead. Al Davis told Philly that he wanted McNabb and a 1st for Nnamdi (as insurance.) I don't know if you guys are watching ESPN but they're trying to clean up their report by stating QUOTE:
"The Raiders are willing to trade Asomugha to the Eagles but the Eagles fear that Oakland will want Players (PiCKS) in return" <---- LOL

Al Davis has NO problem taking on Asante's contract - Davis just wants a 1st Rounder if Asomugha is traded.
