The St. Louis Rams have released QB Marc Bulger, the team announced today. "It is always hard to part ways with someone you care for and appreciate," said Rams Head Coach Steve Spagnuolo. "I was fortunate as a first-year head coach to have Marc on our team. I will always be indebted to him for his work ethic, character and leadership. We wish him and his family nothing but the best." Bulger, 33, started eight games for the Rams last season, but was placed on the reserved/injured list prior to Week 16. "I would like to thank Marc Bulger for his professional attitude," said Rams General Manager Billy Devaney. "Since I arrived in 2008, Marc showed leadership on the field and in the community. We appreciate all that he has done and we wish him the best." In his career, Bulger has started 95 of 96 games and has a 41-54 career record as a starter, all with the Rams. Source: stlouisrams.com
The only news that would make me happier than seeing Bulger get cut, will happen on draft day. Marc Bulger isn't good enough to start for any team, but if you can get him cheap enough - I say Martz should consider bringing him to Chicago as back up. his knowledge of the system is enough to keep Cutler on his toes, without actually taking the job.
Not sure where he is gonna land now. But im sure that release was to make some room for the upcoming draft
Adam Schefter is predicting Pittsburgh or Arizona... http://twitter.com/Adam_Schefter/status/11659746389
Once upon a time a washed up QB who played in St. Louis under Mike Martz signed with the Cardinals to push Matt Leinart.
Really. *Sigh* Well, you started off correctly, posing your statement in fairy tale form..how often is that story going to be repeated? Kurt Warner's story and career is unique, and you do him injustice by implying that it is anything less than one of the greatest comebacks in NFL history. Unbelievable, men lose all logic and perspective when discussing football......
if delhomme can get a starting job, then bulger shouldn't have a problem....but he would be the perfect back up for brees
I disagree, bjut I see your point. If it was earlier in the offseason, maybe Bulger could have gotten a starting job
