Trent Dilfer Says Rams Drafting Sam Bradford Would Be A Mistake

Discussion in 'St. Louis Rams' started by BigBlueBruiser, Apr 7, 2010.

  1. Ex-NFL QB Trent Dilfer told ESPN Radio in St. Louis that selecting Sam Bradford would be a "catastrophic" mistake for the Rams and said that the Oklahoma product isn't even the best QB available in the draft. "In my opinion, he's not even close to the best player in this draft," Dilfer said. Dilfer, now an ESPN analyst, argued that Bradford hasn't faced enough aggressive defenses in college. Dilfer said Notre Dame's Jimmy Clausen is the most pro-ready and that Texas' Colt McCoy may end up being the best pro in the long run.

I'd agree with Dilfer...Bradford would be a bad pick at #1 overall imo. Ndamukong ftw.

bradford would be a bad first round pick in general

One of the few times I've seen or heard those words.

Shouldn't Trent be on NFL Network by now?

I love how a few months ago he was generally regarded as a borderline first round prospect and now he's practically a consensus #1. Ask the Raiders or 49ers how taking a postseason hyped qb #1 overall works out. This crap happens every year but never ceases to disgust me.

Im glad they did....cuz we got rodgers instead of them. They made a HUUUUUUUUGE mistake not drafting rodgers that year.

Bradford would be the third best selection they could make - it's still a quarterback. Suh or McCoy would be like, around the seventh or eighth best selection.

Dilfer is on the money (Except the Colt McCoy pick, he's just a small Bradford).

Yep, they almost always aren't worth the money you pay them.

He also had the luxury of not starting for 3 years either.

  12. Dlifer always seem to be right on the money. Bradford didn't even have the experience of playing his senior year! Clausen has the credentials and throws to make it right now. Now as far as the long run I think tebow will get himself in shape to be a good QB.

    DoubleC i'm ready now...

I agree with Dilfer. Is it serious, doc?

I think it wouldn't have been very different with Rodgers instead of Smith...

Will we see Bradford do a Brady Quinn-esque plummet now?

As long as we get Clausen, that waster can go anywhere.
