We found out a couple of weeks back that unrestricted free-agent safety Darren Sharper is open to returning to the Saints, one of the teams on a short list of favorites. Saints general manager Mickey Loomis held his pre-draft news conference Friday, and he touched on the topic of Sharper, saying the two sides have stayed in touch, according to The Times-Picayune. “We have a specific idea of what we want to pay Darren,â€￾ Loomis said. “But if another team offers a big contract, I’ll be happy for him, just like I was happy for Scott Fujita (when he signed with the Browns),â€￾ Loomis said. “(Sharper) has expressed pretty clearly that he’d prefer to be back with the Saints. But I understand he wants to maximize his earnings.â€￾

Darren Sharper is so inconsistent, with us he had like 4 picks in like 2 seasons or whatever it was but then he goes to NO and has 9. WTF is that?!
