The New York Jets have signed linebacker Jason Taylor for two-years, $13 million. Taylor wanted to return to the Dolphins but decided to accept New York's offer after realizing there was no opportunity for him to play for Miami. No doubt, they're going all out and I don't think they're done yet. I'm drawing a blank on a team ever previously going this nuts before the draft. Gonna be interesting to see how it works out in the long run.
Good for them, lot of expectation to live up to though. It's not going to be like last year where you sneak up on teams.
At 6.5 million a year it's far from a good signing. Taylor, as much as he is one of my favorite players, is not worth anything close to that. His play is steady, but declining.
He will make $3.75 mil this year, if he comes back he will make $10 mil. IF he comes back I guarente that the Jets will cut him
He's definitely not a full-time player, but I think the time he's in there in, in the Jets D, he can be rather productive.
JT still has a little bit left in the tank, but not at $3.5 million. Although, his leadership and influence in the locker room will be great for the Jets. Shame that the Fins didn't want to resign him. :icon_sad:
Another good addition to this defence. You have to think that this is the year that the Jets have to push for the AFC Championship.
later in the season when the jets are making their playoff run and taylor has fresh legs... it will be clear
Last I checked the money wasn't coming out of any of our pockets, uncapped year and solid veteran pass rusher so why wouldn't they?
what a waste of time and money the guy is a has-been....he will produce nothing and coach ryan will have no choice but to put him on the inactive list on gameday.
This years Jets reminds me of the 2000 version of the Portland TrailBlazers a crap load of talent on that team!
