The Dallas Cowboys traded up to get receiver Dez Bryant, and some critics have asked what the personnel move means for current Cowboy wideout Roy Williams but general manager and owner Jerry Jones told the Dallas Morning News, "we won't be moving Roy." Jones insisted this pick was "more about what Bryant is than what Roy isn't". Williams has already received a $9.5 million bonus and is set to make $3.45 million in base salary and Jones said Williams will be the starter in 2010, next to Miles Austin, according to the newspaper. "I told them we draft players every year and there's always competition, but I'm counting on you guys to make the difference on this football team," Cowboys coach Wade Phillips said. "If somebody comes in to compete, that's part of the game, but don't get your feelings hurt no matter who we take. I even kidded Romo, if we take a quarterback you've got to smile and go on." yeah no way we get rid of roy, not this season. if he doesnt do no more then he did last year, then gone next season... no reason to make the offense stellar and this lose what could be our possession wr.
Well good, because there is no team in the league that would give them more than a 6th for his butt and his contract. Quality starters are going for 3rd and 4th rounders this offseason.
Come on JJ, you already admitted your mistake by drafting Dez... why not go all out and get whatever you can for Roy? Just move on.
As a Chiefs fan I'd gladly give a 3 or 4 for him. That said, I would think the Bears would be interested seeing as how Williams best season was under Martz and to get a good return on Cutler they need their receivers to perform.
He has more talent than every receiver we have in KC. I don't know if he'll ever live up to that talent, but I'd love to find out if it only cost a 3rd or 4th.
Our possession receiver?!? To be a possession receiver you have to be able to catch the ball and he can not...he is garbage. The sooner he is gone the better.
