The Seattle Seahawks have added another running back via a trade on the third day of the 2010 NFL Draft, acquiring restricted free agent Leon Washington from the New York Jets in exchange for the 139th pick of the 2010 NFL Draft, which the Jets used on Kentucky fullback John Conner. The Seahawks also acquired a seventh-round pick from the Jets, the 236th overall selection in this year's draft. The 5-8, 195-pound running back has emerged as a multi-dimensional threat, catching 123 passes for 969 yards and a pair of touchdowns out of the backfield, and averaging nearly 10 yards per punt return and 25.5 yards on kick returns. Ironically, I said to my dad that the Jets must be thinking little of Washington shortly after they selected Joe McKnight. Jets had a real brainfart on this one IMO.
I can't believe the Jets let him go for so little. Seahawks got a great steal here. As Andy82 said, as soon as they drafted McKnight the Jets were likely to ship Washington.
Hasn't Washington had some injury issues? I think he'll spend more time returning kicks in the future and as third down back. Jets are planning ahead from how I see it.
:icon_cool: :icon_twisted:The Seahawks will use him in a multi-purpose role during the season:icon_cheesygrin:
Two things. A. You don't need smilies every time you post. B. The combination of Forsett and White will allow the Seahawks to use him mainly on special teams until he is full healed from his injury.
Why would they do that? He was the only one having success last season behind that abomination they called on offensive line.
:icon_cheesygrin:I don't have to let my car run for 5 minutes every day,..but I do. Here how about this :icon_cry: you feel better now.Let us stick to the topic..huh:icon_rolleyes:
