The Giants have "kicked the tires" on former Pro Bowl defensive tackle John Henderson, according to an NFL source, and could have some interest in signing him if the price is right. Considering the Giants used their second-round pick on a defensive tackle, East Carolina's Linval Joseph, things certainly seem a little crowded at that position right now, but the Giants are clearly looking to shape things up in there. NFL.com reported today that the Giants nearly traded DT Barry Cofield to the Saints for a second-day pick (a second- or third-rounder) and one team source said that DT Rocky Bernard is not a lock to make the team or even make it to training camp, especially if the Giants are able to acquire another defensive tackle. Tom Coughlin drafted Henderson ninth overall in the '02 draft and likes to bring in ex-Jags to New York. Hopefully, Henderson will want to play in New York. We need his presence on the D-Line.
