The bad luck continued today for Steelers wide receiver Limas Sweed, who left the final minicamp practice with what appears to be a serious Achilles tendon injury, coach Mike Tomlin revealed. Sweed, the team's second-round draft pick in 2008, was mounting a comeback from some emotional issues that caused the Steelers to place him on injured reserve for the final two games of last season. If the tendon is ruptured, it likely would mean that Sweed could not play in 2010. Source: Pittsburgh Post-Gazette
the steelers should just find women to play wide receiver......big ben is great at throwing balls their way :icon_cheesygrin:
Hopefully Sanders, we got Battle and Randle El during the off-season so we can still have a capable corps.
I never even expected Sweed to be a factor this season...or ever again for that matter! The signings of Randle El and Battle pretty much assured that. I'm not sad to see him go...just disappointed the Steelers wasted a 2nd rounder on him. If I remember correctly, Ben was adamant about signing a "taller" receiver which is why they picked him up in the first place. Does anyone remember who was still on the board when PGH picked him?
......'Tellus was still there : ) Ray Rice went a few picks after As for WR's after Earl Bennett and Manningham, not much
it was between sweed and groves at that pick...both are disappointments. sweed was gonna make strides this year, 3rd year WR turning the corner. this is a such a shame cause hes likely done for good now
