I was in the middle when it came down to letting Burrell go but based on what little he did for the Rays, I'm relieved. I couldn't imagine going from being on top of the world, to barely being on the planet. I had my doubts when we signed Ibanez but imo, we are in a better place right now.

 

no doubt ibanez is better than burrell but not enough where it justifies his contract which is a big reason we dont have lee and won't keep werth.

 

agreed.. I was actually pissed that we paid so much for Ibanez when we wouldn't keep Burrell.

 

The Phillies will be able to afford Werth still. They just may have to take a smaller profit percentage for one year. I expect him to be back.

 

God I hope so but I hate when they take Werth out and put Gload in. I feel like he is being groomed for right field.

 

Nah, Gload's been around awhile. He's nothing but a bench player.

I can't believe the offense hasn't been able to help Doc out tonight. Hopefully we'll have a nice 9th inning comeback.

another thing I was getting at, he seems to be sacrificing the power for hitting and that's ok as long as the strikeouts stay low, which they were picking up. I still want to see some more power from him.
