JaMarcus Russell is training for a shot back in the NFL in 2010, but the ex-Raiders QB does not intend to go to the Arena Football League or Canadian Football League as part of his comeback, NFL.com reported. Russell, cut earlier this month three years after the Raiders selected him first overall in in 2007, won't consider dipping down to the minor leagues in order to get a shot in the NFL again, the site said. Russell has not spoken publicly since the Raiders cut him. His grandmother, Bernice Russell, told the New Orleans Times-Picayune that he is in good spirits. NFL.com and ESPN reported that multiple teams have been in contact with Russell, who would likely have to compete just for a roster spot with any team that gives him a chance.

Who knows HH..what IF the pats give him a chance ( or anyone else for that matter) he could be whipped into shape. Im not making excuses for Russel, but he was just tossed into starting..with a HORRIBLE team...not to mention there wasnt a legit QB there to mentor him or ease him into things. If he does get another chance, he better make it count.

    He can't stop eating dude.

    He can't hit a receiver.

He won't practice to get better.

He's got his money, and by the time it runs out he'll be so out of shape he won't stand a chance.

He DOES need work. ALOT of work. But dudes got strongest arm in the LEAGUE. He could throw 60yds from his knees! Its just sad to see talent pissed away like that..

    60 yards.

He'd miss the the receiver but could make it into the seats.

    Real Pro.

^This. If he can shake off his critics by getting into shape and playing some good ball in the minors, then he'll get offers.

But then again, lardarse is just another Mike Vick in that he believes he doesn't need to work at it.

I'd be in good spirits too if I was paid so much money to watch NBA playoff games on my couch.

Yeah he is done unless he gets some help on the side and changes just about everything from his attitude to diet to work ethic. He would need to do the work on the side and think about a comeback next year.

The guy was nothing special coming out of college. If he was drafted in the third or fourth round, this guy would have been completely written off already. The only thing keeping him in conversation was Davis' dumbass thought to draft him first overall.

I do think he will get picked up by someone who thinks they can whip into shape for some sort of league minimum contract.
