I didn't think that until you mentioned Michael Cole. Why else would they keep JR on if they didn't have anything planned for him? Plus, I think he has the capability of being a Heel Mastermind, plus they can take the revenge line that he got kicked off of Raw for Michael Cole, and that's why he had Bryan Danielson attack him after getting eliminated. Usually in these type of angles, they focus in on the in-ring stars being attacked. There was a big focus on the announcing crew being slapped around and the ring being torn up, which makes me think even more that they are aiming it at JR. I don't even think they know who will be playing the GM role. I hope they make Vickie Guerrero the GM though, she draws so much heat from the crowd and a hated GM is always the most entertaining. Plus it would make Chavo relevant without it involving jobbing to Hornswoggle.

RAW Results for 8/2/10 Edge came out demanding a match with Wade Barrett. R-Truth came out and told him that after everything that went down last week, they need to stick together to win at Summerslam. Edge didn't want to hear it and they argued. The GM emailed an announcement that Edge vs. Barrett would take place. Edge vs. Wade Barrett was good but too short. Nexus tried to attack but Edge was able to escape harm. Alicia Fox & Jillian Hall & Tamina defeated Eve Torres & Gail Kim & Natalya when Fox pinned Natalya. They ignored Hall getting laid out. Fox was attacked by the returning Melina after the match. They had a segment where Edge got into it with Cena and quit the team at Summerslam. Jericho stuck his nose in and told Cena he should just give up the team too, setting up Jericho vs. Cena. Nexus tried to recruit Great Khali to join them. WWE champion Sheamus pinned Goldust. Sheamus cut a promo saying that unlike Randy Orton, he ended Triple H's career and would do the same to Orton. In a really good match, John Cena forced Chris Jericho to tap to an STF. Cena tried to get Jericho to remain on their team. Jericho teased showing respect but instead walked out on Cena. Backstage Edge and Jericho reconciled. They are wrestling Cena and Bret Hart next week. Great Khali defeated Ted DiBiase with the Head Vice. Nexus tried to convince Khali. Randy Orton pinned the Miz in another good match. Orton and Sheamus had a staredown to close Raw.
