You didn't really specify how to rank these players. Projections for next season? Overall career play/statistics? Overall career talent? Fantasy football scoring? Etc.

    Example:
My top 5 RBs that are still in the league would be LT2, Westbrook, CJ, AD, SJax. Westbrook will sign somewhere so I'm including him.

  4. ball in the baskett

ball in the baskett First Team All Pro

No way westbrook is top 5 in the league anymore even if he plays somewhere 06 07 yea

  5. whatadai

    whatadai Rookie

That's why I'm asking if this is ranked by projections for next year? Overall career play? Etc.

Roethlisberger is easily a top 10, if not top 5, yet he mentions Eli Manning and doesn't mention Roethlisberger at all. So it seems as if he's ranking by stat projections for next year.

He also has Cedric Benson in the top 5. It's obviously not by overall career play or talent then. I doubt he's ranking him by projected stats next year too, I doubt he'll have the 5th best stats out of RBs.

Jason Peters at 5th OT. Dumervil at top OLB. Kevin Williams at 2nd best DT. Jay Ratliff and Terrell Suggs are nowhere to be found. I don't understand how we're suppose to rank them.

rank em however you want. i did it based on mostly last season and right now who's better if they played today or whatever. and rice is way more than just a fantasy back. he was insanely crucial to us last year. just watch the pro bowler play. benson i think is a little underrated. criticize my picks all you want but if u disagree with one it doesn't mean i'm looking for some other way of ranking them, you just think i'm wrong.

don't do it by career though, that's like another story.

again, if you don't agree with mine, fine. but that doesn't mean because i picked people you disagree with, i'm looking for something very weird or specific. Do whatever you want. If you really need detailed instructions, fine. do it based on right now. how good are they right now. so you wouldn't have westbrook or LT on there. is that clear enough?

RF, Jason Peters isn't a top 5 LT dude. That isn't an opinion, it's a fact.

I can't be bothered to do a whole list as i don't watch enough to see all the guyd, but Lofton needs to be in in cosideration at top 5 MLB

  12. K Train

    K Train Do You Honeycutt?

    my MLBs would be

    Willis
    Harris
    Dansby
    Mayo
    Beason

lewis doesnt play at the level he used to...overrated on-field leader at this point

You need to divide up 4-3 OLB and 3-4 OLB.

For obvious reasons, 3-4 guys make more of an impact, but some of the best athletes and players in the NFL are 4-3 OLBs.

Also 3-4 Ends too. 4-3 Ends will obviously be chosen ahead in lists like this.

    QB
    Peyton Manning
    Drew Brees
    Aaron Rodgers
    Tom Brady
    Philip Rivers

    RB
    Adrian Peterson
    Steven Jackson
    Chris Johnson
    Maurice Jones-Drew
Jonathon Stewart/DeAngelo Williams <<<Difference is minimal but they're both great!

    WR
    Calvin Johnson
    Andre Johnson
    Brandon Marshall
    Larry Fitzgerald
    Steve Smith (CAR)

TE - I like a certain kind of TE o_O (Gotta block or they're a glorified WR!)
    Tony Gonzalez
    Vernon Davis
    Jason Witten
    Heath Miller
    John Carlson

    OT
    Joe Thomas
    Michael Roos
    Ryan Clady
    Michael Oher
    D'Brickashaw Ferguson

    Interior OL
    Jahri Evans
    Steve Hutchinson
    Nick Mangold
    Kris Dielman
    Jason Brown

    4-3 DE
    Mario Williams
    Jared Allen
    Julius Peppers
    Dwight Freeney
    Trent Cole

    3-4 OLB
    DeMarcus Ware
    James Harrison
    Clay Matthews
    LaMarr Woodley
    Elvis Dumervil

    DT/NT
    Albert Haynesworth
    Kevin Williams
    Haloti Ngata
    Sedrick Ellis
    Jay Ratliff

    3-4 DE
    Darnell Dockett
    Aaron Smith
    Richard Seymour
    Louis Castillo
    Ty Warren

    4-3 OLB
    Lance Briggs
    Brian Cushing
    Keith Rivers
    Leroy Hill (wife beating aside)
    Thomas Davis

    ILB
    Patrick Willis
    DeMeco Ryans
    David Harris
    Jon Beason
    Lofa Tatupu

CB - Like TEs, I also like a certain kind of corner!
    Darrelle Revis
    Nnamdi Asomugha
    Leon Hall
    Leodis McKelvin
    Antoine Winfield

    S
    Ed Reed
    Troy Polamalu
    Bob Sanders (when healthy)
    Michael Griffin
Jairus Byrd (only 5 because of one season - could be 3 if he stays this good!)

    theeraser21 u r a slapdick

There is NO WAY that Oher, Mankins, and Ray lewis are the best at their positions. Mankins had a down year last year, as did Lewis

    **********Automerged Doublepost**********

also Faneca is not a top 5 OG anymore

  15. ravenfan52

    ravenfan52 Perennial All Pro

Mankins and Faneca I just got from someone else's list cause I wasn't so sure about guards.

I knew this would be an unpopular decision, but Jarrett Johnson is an underrated BEAST. He was our BEST player on defense last year, better than Ray, Ed, Haloti, and definitely Suggs. He's for sure top 5, probably at the same level as Harrison and Woodley. They're all great, but Johnson doesn't get the recognition.
Not a bad list, xcept you left out Ryans. As far as Ray goes, watch him play. He's still a huge force with whom to be reckoned. Yeah, he's getting up there in years, but his play hasn't declined as much as some people think. Notice how he's still making Pro-Bowls when guys like Zach Thomas, Derrick Brooks, Brian Urlacher, etc. are either injured or retired. Not saying that Ray isn't past his prime, but even when he's not in his prime, he's amazing. He can hit as hard as almost anyone in the league. He still makes picks, strips guys, breaks up passes and rushes the passer very well. Remember when he stopped Sproles in the backfield in week 2 on 4th and 2 at the end of the game? You can say it was Turner's fault, whatever. I'm rambling now. But Ray Lewis is still terrific and definitely a top-tier MLB in the game today.

im saying ray was terrible when he didnt have ngata, they drafted ngata and it resurrected his career. hes emotional, a great leader, and can still hit but hes no way top 5 at this stage in his career

  17. Inclulbus

    Inclulbus WE ARE! .. Marshall!

No way Frank Gore isnt top 5 RB.... Especially Benson over Gore?? Helllll no. If I get time today I might do this.

he still had kelly gregg before ngata. and before that sam adams and goose. don't give me the "he's only good because the linemen in front of him are" bs. why does that take away from his ability? I have an idea.

ngata makes everyone better. im not saying hes only good because of him, but hes alot better because of him. the mans talented i know that, but hes not top 5 anymore...he may very well be top 5 all time but not right now in the current league

  20. 86WARD

    86WARD -

    Roethlisberger is easily Top-5. EASILY.

Cedric Benson is EASILY NOT a Top-5 back...lol.

I like Mikey Turner as a Top-5 back...not that far fetched.
