With the Minnesota Vikings less than three weeks away from opening training camp, all eyes are on Brett Favre who is yet to announce his intentions for the 2010 season. Favre Watch is about to hit overdrive as the 40-year-old quarterback will attend the ESPY Awards next Wednesday according to Judd Zulgad of the Star Tribune. It's highly unlikely that ESPN will let an opportunity such as this pass by without doing a daily update on SportsCenter about Favre's future. Once ESPN runs with a story all other outlets will cover their coverage at a feverish pace. The general consensus around the league right now is that Favre will be back in the saddle for the Vikings after he underwent the necessary ankle procedure to be able to play this season and he has also been working out with Raiders quarterback Jason Campbell. If Roger Goodell wasn't such a little snitch, he'd personally call Favre and tell him to make a freaking decision. This is getting a little old. He should just have his own network special to tell the world if he's going to play or not. But either way, come on now. Let the franchise either move forward without you, or come back.
The speculation that has made it so much easy for NFL journalists over the last couple years. Funny, Favre really hasn't said a thing this year, but there is a story about him every day, just because reporters ask every single player they interview about Favre.
He's coming back. It's obvious that everyone involved knows about it. Where's the speculation? It's a done deal...lol.
