Ravens backup quarterback Troy Smith took some time Wednesday at Ed Reed's youth football camp at Randallstown High School to address the recent addition of Marc Bulger, who is expected to be the team's No. 2 quarterback. He seemed to take the acquisition in stride. "I'm proud to have another teammate. He's definitely a good guy. I've been a fan of his for a while. That side of what's going on, I can't control," Smith said. On whether he was disappointed by Bulger's signing, Smith said he looks forward to the competition among quarterbacks for their spot on the depth chart. "Everybody gets a chance to compete, though. That's the way the game is. Even Joe [Flacco] is in competition. We all get a chance to bond together and become a great quarterback group," Smith said. Smith downplayed recent speculation that the Philadelphia Eagles might be interested in him. "I can't control things like that. It's just about getting better as a player and as a quarterback," he said. Source: Jamison Hensley, Baltimore Sun
I'm sure if Troy or Marc smoked him badly enough in the competition then there'd be a controversy but I can't imagine that happening. Troy Smith has been a real professional through all this stuff (so far, knock on wood) and that's been impressive to me.
