No deal for Pacquiao-Mayweather bout Top Rank promoter Bob Arum's deadline of 3 a.m. ET came and went Saturday morning with no response from Floyd Mayweather Jr. or his representatives about whether he would accept the terms of a deal for a Nov. 13 fight with Manny Pacquiao. So there is no deal, Arum said, and he will begin negotiating another fight for the pound-for-pound king. The two candidates are other fighters Arum promotes, disgraced former welterweight titlist Antonio Margarito, who remains unlicensed in the United States because of the scandal over his hand wraps before his knockout loss to Shane Mosley last year, or a rematch with Miguel Cotto, whom Pacquiao knocked out to win a welterweight title in November 2009. Those fights would take place at junior middleweight and give Pacquiao a chance to win a title in a record-extending eighth weight clbutt. He would either fight Cotto for the 154-pound belt he won from Yuri Foreman on June 5 or face Margarito for the belt vacated by Sergio Martinez after he moved up and won the middleweight championship in April.
Damn. I really wanted to see this fight. I haven't really followed boxing recently or this story, but did Mayweather back out because of an issue with his trainer or something? What's the deal?
He insisted on Olymipic style drug tested even after Pac said he wouldn't be tested day of fight but right after.
Pacquiao is HARDLY ducking Merriweather. He's going out of his way to try and get the bout. He just refused to let Merriweather disbarage him by suggesting he's on steroids. I know we have had this talk before but Merriweather and the Klitschko's have ruined the sport.
How the heck is Mayweather ducking Pacquio, he want's to do an olympic style drug test to assure there are no cheats in this and Pacquio refuses it, that's Pacquio bein' a little cheating mexican.
Pacquiao agreed to the testing I believe but Mayweather still rejected it. Mayweather being a cat is just adding more weight to the ever falling sport that is Boxing.
^ this. Pacquiao initially told Mayweather to heck off when he insisted on the olympic testing which is not standard and excessive. He then later said fine you little snitch if that's what it takes to get the fight I will do it (in so many words) and Mayweather still pussed out. Pac agreed to be tested right after the fight. He was concerned drawing blood just before the fight would weaken him. Which as anyone who has even donated blood knows it does.

i saw the 24/7 with mayweather and mosley and i noticed that mosley was trying to make weight the day before the fight looked skinny and weak he hadnt eaten or drank anything when boom a dude shows up for a random test mosley looked shocked and told him im not going to be able to pee im trying to make weight. So i understand Paquiao not wanting to go through those test.
