Many of you are wondering who will wear No. 81 for the Bengals this season. Well, we have word that Terrell Owens will continue to wear his signature number. NFL Network’s Warren Sapp donned his reporter cap Wednesday, and after speaking with Antonio Bryant (who has briefly owned the number after signing in Cincinnati this offseason) broke the news on “NFL Total Access.†According to Sapp, an unknown sum of money changed hands for the rights to the number, with some going to a charity. We’re guessing there are a decent number of fans in the Cincinnati area now caught in the awkward position of owning a No. 81 Bengals jersey, intending it to be for Bryant, not Owens. Source: NFL.com
All the goddam money should've went to charity. I thought the common practice was a gift like a nice watch or something along those lines for new players getting their old numbers.
Why do you think it's TO who's going to be cut? Who says it's not going to be Bryant? Just because he's been a problem in the past, doesn't mean that he will be one this time. I'm not saying TO's in his prime, but he's got 2 or 3 years left in the tank.
Dont be shocked it TO winds up gone You guys arent thin at WR. I can see cutting Simpson and Cosby, but why cut Briscoe who has the talent to be a starter in the NFL. With TO, all three are good as cut
