Sports Illustrated's Peter King Turns Down Offer To NFL Network

Turns out the NFL is far from satisfied in allowing NFL Network to be a fringe media player. Earlier today I confirmed that Jay Glazer of Fox Sports was joining NFL Network. I’ve since been informed that the NFL also approached Sports Illustrated’s Peter King about joining the network, but was turned down. (â€￾Swung and missedâ€￾ was how it was described to me.) Perhaps even more significant is who the NFL Network has turned to for programming advice. Former ESPN programming wunderkind Mark Shapiro is now consulting for the league on television matters - including NFL Network games and studio shows.

Peter King habitually makes an butt out of himself with his NFL predictions - this is no great loss for the NFLN.

Peter King has more information about the NFL than you guys have dirt under your fingernails. So be it, I said it. Cus I can. And I no.

Peter King knows a lot of crap. I don't particularly care for him. I enjoy the NFLN and like Glazer. It works for me. Still wish Schefter was there, but there's nothing I can do about it...

Way to state the obvious while jumping to conclusions. I didn't say he didn't have tons of "information about the NFL", a lot of people do, I said he sucks. I don't like looking at him, hearing him, or reading his articles and opinions. So I'm glad he's not on the NFL network, a show I frequent daily. Simple, yes.

yep, he's one of these dopes that feels hey, i'm smarter because i speak louder and talk over you. i loved when mike missinelli verbally destoyed him when he called the station - amazing how stupid the guy sounds when someone else can match his tone.

smart move by peter king IMO. that network has too many douchebags on it. is sanders still there ? that alone is reason to cancel that channel.

eh, king may have some connections (mainly just from longevity in the business) but it's amazing how many times his information is innacurate. he has just as many 'sources' whose information is innacurate than accurate ............. and, for someone who is know for his predictions, he is wrong more than he is right.

I could take the opposite of whatever King thinks and be right more than he is.

King is more inaccurate than Mike Florio with Profootball Talk will EVER be...I also like NFLN most of the time, ESPN, I wish none of the time but forced to watch it more times than I care to remember.
