Frustration Mounting Between Redskins, DT Albert Haynesworth

On Day 9 of the Albert Haynesworth watch, frustration is mounting within the Redskins organization because the Pro Bowl defensive lineman still has not passed the conditioning test he must to participate in full practice, multiple people familiar with the situation said Friday morning. An MRI exam Thursday of Haynesworth's sore knee revealed no structural damage, and the feeling among many at Redskins Park is that the two-time all-pro should have already passed the test. Although perplexed team officials acknowledge Haynesworth probably is experiencing knee irritation, sources say, they do not believe his pain rises to a level that would prevent him from passing the test of two, timed 300-yard shuttle runs. Moreover, Haynesworth has not even attempted the test since Monday, and his last strong effort occurred July 30. The nine-year veteran's decision to delay retesting is unsettling to the Redskins, especially in light of the encouraging MRI exam and Thursday's performance on a treadmill in which "he was flying," one source said.

what did the skins expect when training camp opened? did they expect this whole situation, which festered all spring and summer, to just disappear?

i'm really not understanding the skins approach to this whole situation at all .................... i think they have mishandled everything about it ......................

How so Captain? He has our 21 million dollar check. He's going to be here this season no matter what, unless we get a trade some how. Other wise he wont be gone till next season most likely.

it's very simple. when he demanded to be traded when the 3-4 was announced, they should have granted his wish, traded him to a 4-3 team, and in return for the trade, made haynesworth give the $21 mill back.

and, even though they hecked THAT up and let it drag out, at this point, his insubordination is grounds to negate the contract and sue him to get the $21 mill back but they're once again handling him with kid gloves.

where the skins have hecked up is treating this guy like the diva princess he is and putting up with his crap. they've dug themselves a very deep hole by letting this thing drag out and letting Haynesworth dictate too much. HE works for THEM, NOT the other way around.

and, does anyone actually believe that Haynesworth is going to give any effort once the season starts? Here is what is going to happen ............... the dude will start the season playing but will only actually give effort 1 or 2 snaps a game. Then, he will come up with some nagging injury that keeps him on and off the field quite a bit. There is no way this will turn out well and it's the skins fault for not dealing with it.

For someone who acts like a Haynesworth expert you sure are missing some BIG pieces. The Redskins and Shanahan were nothing but nice to Haynesworth. We told him if he didn't want to play for us he could go find any team he wanted and we would let him go there. However, he didn't (because nobody wanted him) and he took our check for 21 million.

We gave him his chance to leave, but he didn't, he wanted the 21 million which is the exact reason he'll be playing this season. Next season, who knows. So don't feed me this, Redskins didn't do this right bla bla bla, we did, money was just more important to him.

We haven't dug ourselves in any hole, the team believes in themselves, with or without him and that's all that matters. IMO, we are a better team with him, no doubt about it, but we'll still move on. Shanahan knows what he's doing with Haynesworth, the man isn't stupid, just can't wait to see the final outcome.

This. This headline's about 4 months late, the frustration mounted then moment the 3-4 was announced.

you just agreed with my point that the skins have been too nice and too tentative with this whole process:

    1) I agree that the skins and shanny have been TOO nice to Haynesworth

    2) What NFL team is going to negotiate a trade directly with a player? THE SKINS should have initiated talks with teams and gotten rid of the guy themselves and gotten their $21 mill back.

Who the hell allows a player to badmouth the team and its' system and then says, "if you want to leave, find a new team" and then acts surprised when he's being insubordinate after not being able to negotiate his own trade .................. ???

this is a trainwreck and the skins won't get crap out of this guy this season or any season hereafter ................

    just my opinion, though .................

You don't understand, we want him here, we want him to play for us. That's why Shanahan said if you want out, find a team and we'll let you go, but when he took the money Shanahan assumed he wanted to play for us.

I guess they could have been a little too nice, but they were just letting him go out to a new team, pick who he wanted rather than us forcing him somewhere (kind like what the Eagles did with McNabb, they allowed him to go where he wanted).

Like I said I'm not worried about Haynesworth, I want him on the field, but if he's not out there that's fine. I'm sure they'll find some way to get the money back.
