Countless numbers of boys have dreamt of day like today. More than 20,000 men have played in the National Football League since it was founded in downtown Canton, Ohio in 1920. With tonight's enshrinement of the Class of 2010 – Russ Grimm, Rickey Jackson, twinky LeBeau, Floyd Little, John Randle, Jerry Rice and Emmitt Smith – there are 260 who have been honored with a bronze bust in the Hall of Fame. Of that group, 229 were players. The seven greats taking center stage in Fawcett Stadium tonight are now officially considered among the greatest of all-time. Source: Pro Football Hall Of Fame
That was an awesome weekend. I never knew how much of a perfictionist Jerry Rice was. i knew he was...but not 2 that extreme. Emmits was my fav. even 4 how much i hated the Cowboys, you had 2 respect their competitive spirit. and seeing John Randle get in was great 2. all of them are great. and i wish them all well. Great Sportsmen.
Congrats to the 2010 Hall of Fame clbutt.....eace: **********Automerged Doublepost********** As a Giant fan...it still pains me to admit this but I agree 110%..... Adam Schefter: Twitter.com **********Automerged Doublepost********** This was the only time as an announce that John Madden went to the locker room and speak to a player after the game. **********Automerged Doublepost********** announcer* **********Automerged Doublepost********** I liked Rickey Jackson's speech as well...stressing that the NFL has a good thing going and endorsing Saints owner Tom Benson for eventual enshrinement in the HOF.
It got really dusty when Emmitt broke down thanking Daryl 'Moose' Johnston. "You sacrificed so much"...stupid dust... I always thought Irvin's speech would be hard to top, but Emmitt was damn close...
That was an awsome rcognition 2 Daryl. and Daryl deserved every tear he got from Emmitt. great moment :iwin:
As a 49er fan and it pains me to say so but Emmitt's speech was the best. After listening to Rice speak (which btw was painful) I was ready to turn the channel as soon as Emmitt came on remembering his fumbling and bumbling of the English language and listening to him butcher the English language but I'm glad I waited and didn't miss the greatest speech today. Loved Floyd Little as well. Emmitt did a great job of memorizing his speech. Again, it just pissed me off that a freaking Cowboy player made me cry...bastard.:icon_evil:
Biggest heart (and p**is) on GIF. That's why we call her mom : ) But I digress. I'm so pumped that football is back!!!!
I really enjoyed Emmitt's speech. Like Sweets mentioned, I expected to hear some bumbling jibberish, but it turned extremely well. Irvin's speech was good too, but Emmitt's was better. Loved LeBeau's!!! :TTW:
I think Emmitt's speech may be the best induction speech I've heard.......ever.....I thought it was that good. What a class act.
