Denver Broncos rookie quarterback Tim Tebow isn't concerned about his throwing mechanics. He's concentrating on making plays, not his elongated delivery. "That wasn't something that was going through my mind," Tebow told the Denver Post. "It was more reading the defense and trying to get first downs." It looks like Tebow's throwing motion hasn't changed much, if at all, since his Heisman Trophy career at the University of Florida. He completed 8 of 13 passes and rushed for a late touchdown. "I don't know if that necessarily matters. I never listened too much to what people said," Tebow said. "I'm just trying to stay focused and get better every day and try to be the best player and teammate I can be on this team and not worry about what people say." Source: National Football Post
That was the knock on him coming out of Florida. I believe the same thing was said about Vince Young when he came out of Texas.
vince doesnt have near the wind up that guys like tebow and leftwich have, tebow drops the ball sooooo low before he throws it. vince has kind of a sidearm release but hes like 6-5. his slow release is awful, but its the dropping the ball so low thats gonna lead to 5-6 turnovers a game sometimes....pro defenders will be all over that
Yeah, Broncos fans probably will probably be very patient for him to see the field in real games. Please note my sarcasm.
i think i'm more concerned with his quote, "I don't know if that necessarily matters. I never listened too much to what people said" um, 'people', meaning NFL scouts and coaches who were saying that your slow delivery was a problem .............. wtf TT? It wasn't just some random writer or tv guy saying your delivery was a problem. it was 'people' within the league ................
Kid's a competitor & I hope he finds a way to alter that windup. Reminds a little of Grossman in Chicago. Terrible windup that always left the ball out in No Man's Land. Of course with no LT to speak of, Sunday fumbles were a Vegas Line. :icon_rolleyes:
