Judd Zulgad of the Minneapolis Star-Tribune is reporting that "it sounds like Sidney Rice could miss the first half of the season" with hip surgery he apparently needs. Rice has reportedly been in Vail, Colorado having the hip examined, and if surgery really is the answer he could be sidelined through the first half of the 2010 season. With Percy Harvin's migraines, receiver is now an area of concern for the Vikings, who signed Javon Walker today.

Maybe it's karma getting back at Wolf and Childress for letting Favre put the team through all his BS.

  6. The Vikings may have to lean on Peterson more during the first half of the season. With Rice having to go under the knife and Harvin still dealing with migraines, their air attack takes quite a hit.

Obviously the passing game will suffer, but we will still have Berrian and Shiancoe, who knows about Harvin

Don't forget how important harvin is to the return game as well..special teams will suffer as well. I love rice and harvin, it sucks that they arent doing well :( But is does bode well for the pack :)

Lol. My thoughts exactly...Favre doesn't even realize the can of worms hes opened..

Its been proven that AP can't carry the team...he can't even carry the ball.. IF he can cut down on his fumbles..he may be able to..but with teams game planning for just the ground game and not worrying about the passing game it may be pretty tough.

  9. Thats why they drafted Toby Gerhart in the second round....to help take some of the pressure off of Peterson. Gerhart has struggled in the preseason but he'll eventually pick it up.

Peterson may also get more opportunities in the passing game with the current rash of injuries at the receiver position and with Chester Taylor now in Chicago.

I completely forgot about Chester Taylor leaving. I really liked Gerhart in college so i hope he does well in the pros.

yikes. losing rice and harvin hurts this team badly. however, if both of them are healthy for the stretch run and the vikes can eek out some wins with defense during the early part of the season, they may be o.k. for the playoffs.
