now back on the subject - what bugs me here isnt that it's an ex player, it's that the ex player is flat out lying about the team. that's what's wrong with this article.

 

I've responded to personal attacks. Never once changed my stance that I don't give a crap about what McNabb has to say. Just keep pointing out how wrong you are.

 

No, that's where you're wrong. He was the Eagles quarterback. Not leader. Every quarterback on every team has to answer those questions after every game. AJ Feeley had to answer them, Sage freaking Rosenfels has had to answer them, Tarvaris Jackson has had to answer them.

As far as the precamp camp? He invited some guys to his place in Arizona to bullcrap and throw the football around a little. Build rapport and a little bit of rhythm before training camp. Again, how is that 'leading'?

Calling Donovan a leader is a disgrace to all of the quarterbacks out there that have a pair of nuts between their legs and actually 'lead' their team.

well my issue with this article again isn't so much was/is he a leader it's that he's lying about the organization. the team didn't back him with the owens situation ? really ? i guess the fact that reid suspended owens and said at a presser that he could not come back until he apologized to the team & mcnabb backs that claim up ? well, obviously neither did releasing owens because he wouldnt.

also, the team didnt back him when he was ripped for poor play ? haaaaaa. so all the times reid said it was his fault and not the qb equates to not backing mcnabb up ?

sorry, i'm just not a pimp like dawk, when "any" player, be it current or former lies about my team i am going to defend it.

 

lying or not, McScab is a freaking lil girl who can't just let things go that are in the past. I've said this enough times, he was never a leader but it's great to see some eagle fans actually posting that now..hehehehe

 

smeagle's got a great point. I seem to recall a lot, a WHOLE lot of fans in Philly that were very frustrated with Reid taking the blame for McNabb and the team's poor play at times...

 

yeah ward and let's not forget the record contract the team gave him. nothing says "not backing" a player up like $100mil. oh and let's forget the fact that the team traded the guy to a divsional rival when by their own admission there were better deals out there but did it anyway to accomidate him.

Jeff Lurie and Andy Reid bent over backwards to praise McNabb and rally around him when there was criticism. If anything, McNabb was coddled for most of his time in Philadelphia. It reached a point where it was a source of resentment with some of his teammates.

What I found most troubling was his recounting of the final minutes in the Super Bowl loss to New England. Asked what went on when the Eagles were moving so slowly and the clock was winding down, McNabb first blames the coaches ("The play-calling was a little slow, maybe") and then dismisses the whole thing by saying, "It was just blown out of proportion."

i have always held the opinion that he suffered a concussion from the blindside hits from both seymour and bruschi in that drive. being dazed and puking are symptoms of it. why he and the team did not just say that then is beyond me. anything said about it now just makes more pathetic.

plus let's be honest here, there has always been issues getting the play calls into the huddle.

i defended mcnabb when people railed on him when it wasn't justified and there were several times when that was the case. but like any other player if they are they are wrong. period.
