Three days after speculation ramped up again, the Bengals released receiver Antonio Bryant on Sunday, ending a short yet costly five-month tenure with the team. When asked if he thought he would be released, Bryant said last Thursday: "That's not a decision for me to make. I know what I'm capable of doing. Whatever their decision is that the one's that made upstairs. That's not the one for me to make. My thing is to play football and whenever I'm able to do that I'll play to the best of my ability." Bryant signed with the Bengals on March 10 after an injury-plagued season last year in Tampa Bay, where he hurt his left knee twice. He had arthoscopic surgery after injuring it in training camp last year and admitted that he came back too quickly in time for the regular season. The question now becomes how Bryant could have passed a physical in the first place. Without playing a down, Bryant made $6.95 million ($3.6 million signing bonus, $3.1 million roster bonus for being on the roster March 21 and a $250,000 workout bonus). Can't say I am surprised. With the addition of T.O. and his health in question.. why would they keep Bryant?
Doubtful. Someone will give him another chance. Too much upside to his game IMO. But in today's NFL who knows dude. lol
Because TO sucks At this stage in there careers Bryants 10 game numbers would be better than TO's 16 game numbers
I understand your T.O. hate. But T.O. is on a mission this year. I am willing to bet he has a great year. Playing ball with his best friend = good year for T.O..
TO is done. He was done in 2008 with us, and it showed last year 3 100 yards games in the last 2 years. And one was in the 44-6 blowout loss to Philadlephia
Not sure if I agree with that dude. I still think T.O. has a little something left. I am not saying he is gonna have Moss type of numbers, but the guy will have around 10 TD's and most likely 1000+ yards. I may be wrong, but I just have a feeling this is T.O.'s last year and he will go out with a bang.
I just dont think he has it anymore. After 2007, his skill rapidly decreased. 2008 you could see he wasnt getting off the line nearly as quick, wasnt able to fight through jams like he could before, and wasnt able to break tackles like he did. Alot of people blame the fact that he was in Buffalo for his poor season. Look back at his perfomace in 2008 with a top offense and you will see Buffalo had nothing to do with it. TO cashed his checks his whole career as a physical WR, who fights CB's on the line and breaks tackles after the catch. His body is broken down from that. He doesnt haver the speed or strength anymore he needs to be a productive WR
We will see this year. I still think he has good numbers. Chad Ochostinko will do better, but it will be a successful duo in Cincy.
are you serious? You put any WR in Buffalo last year with a terrible o.line, even worse qb's, and a bad defense and no WR would succeed.
Um, ya I am. Cuz you know, I kinda watched him play just a bad in Dallas with a top offense the year before. Yaaaaaaaaaaa, he was kinda just a lil bit the same player he was last year
Meh...Bryant will be able to find a gig somewhere. He'll live off his season in Tampa for another season...
From how TO has looked so far in preseason I don't know if I would totally write him off yet. I also expect him to have a bounce back year.
