Len Pasquarelli of The Sports Exchange reports the Arizona Cardinals have granted permission for quarterback Matt Leinart to seek a trade partner. The Cardinals were reportedly attempting to do the same, contacting the New York Giants earlier this week. The 10th overall pick of the 2006 NFL Draft out of USC, Leinart has started 17 games over the last four seasons, completing 57.1% of his 595 pass attempts for 3,893 yards, with 14 touchdowns and 20 interceptions, compiling a 70.8 passer rating. Most of Leinart's game action occurred during the 2006 and 2007 seasons before giving way to Kurt Warner. Leinart has apparently lost his training camp competition for the starting job to Derek Anderson, who was signed to a two-year, $7.25 million contract in March. Source: Mac's Football Blog
Not here....not unless your willing to take a massive pay cut and willing to sit behind Eli. So again....not here.
I don't even think Leinart could beat out Jeff Garcia for the starting gig with the UFL's Omaha Nighthawks.
I wouldn't mind to have him as a third for something cheap like a 6th round pick, with 5th as conditional on playing time since Campbell is injured and Glasskowski is our backup.
