Giants Acquire QB Sage Rosenfels From The Vikings

The New York Giants have a new backup for Eli Manning. A source told FOXSports.com that Minnesota has traded quarterback Sage Rosenfels to the Giants. The compensation was not immediately available. Rosenfels played better overall this preseason than backup Tavaris Jackson, but his $2.6M dollar salary was too rich for a 3rd string QB.

Good trade for the Giants. Much better option than Leinart.

 

Damn it. We are just getting worse and worse.

 

Rosenfels was far and away better than Jackson running the offense. Childress has some kind of hard-on for T. Jack...I don't get it.

 

Like it a lot, but have to see what we gave up.

Jackson. 12-of-26 for 60. Jackson is however evolving nicely according to Childress.

I mean, if you wanna be real, the entire Vikings QB situation is a clusterheck. I hope Joe gets his chance soon though

 

Ever think they chose to trade Sage because he got more return value than Tavaris could?

 

That and he is a career backup, at least Tarvaris could get ONE more shot, but Sage has reached his peak....if there ever was one. 2.6 mil/yr is too much for a backup, let alone a 3rd stringer. There's a reason Sage got all that time in the Rams game, they wanted to shop him around.

 

Best of luck to you Sage, you pretty much got hosed in my opinion.
