The Dallas Cowboys made their 53-man roster official Saturday afternoon by cutting 20 players and perhaps the most surprising name among the roster casualties was cornerback Cletis Gordon. The fifth-year player was having one of the better camps among defensive players after racking up three pass defenses and an interception in the three preseason games he played. Also cut was veteran defensive tackle Junior Siavii who registered 11 tackles in 16 games for the Cowboys last season. It should also be noted that wide receiver Sam Hurd made the final roster despite trade rumors this week and his refusal to take a pay cut. The 20 players cut by the Cowboys Saturday were: OT Will Barker, OG Travis Bright, DE Marcus Dixon, RB Herb Donaldson, TE DajLeon Farr, CB Cletis Gordon, WR Jesse Holley, WR Manny Johnson, OLB Curtis Johnson, CB Bryan McCann, RB Lonyae Miller, LB Steve Octavien, TE Jason Pociask, TE Martin Rucker, DT Jimmy Saddler-McQueen, LB Brandon Sharpe, DE Junior Siavii, OL Mike Tepper, CB Jamar Wall and CB Teddy Williams Source: Football News Now
Yep.......I'll give the guy credit, never liked him, but he made the PS last year and gave Hurd a run for his money for the #5 spot this year McCann had a decent shot at the 53 before the last game. Will probobly be on the PS
Keep your eye on this. The Cowboys will probably release FB Deon Anderson if they find a TE on the waiver wire that they like.
